Three teams from Blair County will be top seeds in the upcoming District 6 high school girls soccer playoffs.
Altoona (Class 4A), Hollidaysburg (Class 3A) and Central (Class 2A) will all be on top of the bracket when the postseason begins on Tuesday.
The Lady Lions will play either second-seeded Mifflin County or third-seeded State College for the District 6 title on Nov. 2 at Hollidaysburg's Tiger Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
The Lady Tigers will play Bellefonte for the 3A championship at Mansion Park on Nov. 1 at 8 p.m., and Central will take on eighth-seeded Cambria Heights in a quarterfinal matchup at Mansion Park at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
The winner of that game will play the winner of Forest Hills and Tyrone, which will play at Mansion Park following Central's game, in the semifinals on Halloween. The championship round is scheduled for Nov. 3 at Tiger Stadium at 5:30 p.m.
In Class 1A, Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic is the No. 3 seed and will take on playoff nemesis West Branch in a semifinal game at Bald Eagle Area on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The winner of that game will play either Penns Valley or Bald Eagle Area in the championship at Philipsburg-Osceola on Nov. 1 at 5:30 p.m.
Boys soccer
Hollidaysburg and Central Cambria are the top seeds from the Mirror's core coverage area in high school boys soccer.
The Golden Tigers will take on Bellefonte for the District 6 title on Nov. 1 at Mansion Park at 6 p.m.
The Red Devils will take on the winner of Tuesday's Juniata-Westmont Hilltop quarterfinal game in the semifinals at home on Halloween. Sixth-seeded Penn Cambria will travel to third-seeded Cambria Heights for a quarterfinal game on the other side of the bracket Tuesday at 7 p.m. The winner of that game will take on second-seeded Penns Valley at Philipsburg-Osceola in the semifinals on Oct. 31. The 2A championship game is scheduled for Tiger Stadium on Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
The Altoona boys will start their quest for a Class 4A title at home against Central Mountain in the semifinals on Thursday at 8 p.m. The winner will take on top-seeded State College at Tiger Stadium on Nov. 2 at 5:30 p.m.
Bishop Carroll Catholic is the only team from the Mirror's coverage area in the Class 1A bracket. The Huskies will travel to Forest Hills on Tuesday at 6 p.m. for a quarterfinal game, and the winner of that contest will take on second-seeded United at Richland on Thursday at 8 p.m. The Class 1A championship game will be played at Central Cambria on Nov. 2 at 6 p.m.
Girls volleyball
Hollidaysburg is the top seed in the District 6 Class 3A girls volleyball tournament and will receive a bye into the championship game against either third-seeded Bellefonte or second-seeded Bald Eagle Area on Nov. 2 at a site to be determined at 7 p.m.
The Altoona girls will have to travel to Central Mountain for a semifinal game on Nov. 1 with the chance to play State College for the championship on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. on the line.
In Class 1A, Portage earned the No. 2 seed and will play the winner of the first-round matchup between Bishop Guilfoyle (No. 10 seed) and Ferndale (No. 7 seed) on Halloween at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals.
Glendale (No. 5 seed), Claysburg-Kimmel (No. 6 seed) and Juniata Valley (No. 8 seed) will all host first-round matchups on Wednesday.
In Class 2A, Bellwood-Antis earned the No. 4 seed and a bye into the quarterfinals where it will wait for the winner of fifth-seeded Penns Valley and Mount Union, a No. 12 seed, on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.
Tyrone (No. 6 seed) and Central Cambria (No. 8 seed) will both host first-round games on Thursday. Philipsburg-Osceola, the defending champion, is the top seed. The championship will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5.
