Foursome capture ladies invitational at Sylvan Hills Golf Club

HOLLIDAYSBURG -- The team of Joelle Sweeney, Dana Kovash, Genny Vanemon and Patty Nellis won the Sylvan Hills Ladies Golf Invitational held at the Sylvan Hills Golf Club.

Finishing in second was the team of Chris Sisto, Penny Orr, Tick Scheaffer and Roz Sky.

The first flight winning team was Dolly Templeton, Karen Kline, Kathy Jo Getz and Chrissy Koren, while the second-flight winners were Bonnie Caschini, Cindy Day, Karen Cavallo and June Reed.

The winning team in the third flight was Carol Young, Sandy Murphy, Mary Jane Terza and Rosey McCoy.

The Three Blind Mice Tournament was also held with the team of Brenda Flick, Sue Mielnik, Donna Buck and Julie Donovan finishing first, ahead of the team of Carole Laich, Mary Ann Downing, Linda Wise and Margie Coho.

In men's action, the team of Randy Roland, Gary Zimmerman and Tom Shea won the Butch Focht Senior League Tournament.

Second-place honors were earned by the team of Lynn Perry, Patt Dunn and Don Stubbs, followed by third-place finishers Dave Johns, Andy Cameron and Mark Thompson.

TYRONE -- John Bantz, Mark Simanski, Larry Baker and Bob O'Donald finished with a 36 to win the Sinking Valley Country Club Gold Tees Tournament.

The Stableford scoring system was used.

Placing second was the team of John Frederick, Rick Tangeman, Andy Kushner and Dave Mackey at 36.

HOLLIDAYSBURG -- Devin Lansberry, Derek Sullivan, Louis Spaciano and Ryan Rostochi shot a 60 and won a card-off over Scott Christie, Tom Macioce, Don Herbert and Lou Ruzzi to win the ASHE Golf Outing at Scotch Valley Country Club.

Chuck Meyers, Adam Shriver, Garrett Leopold and Tim Kessling finished third on a card-off with a 61.

In Ridge Runners Junior Golf Tournament action, Timothy Peters won the 18-hole boys 16-and-over competition by carding a 72, which was two strokes better than Lukas Cascino and six strokes ahead of Nick Baum.

Alex Talmadge won the boys 14-year-old competition with a 76 over runner-up Chris Warner (83) and third-place finisher Ian Nagel (88).

Madison Koshko shot a 77 to edge Abi Newell by a stroke in the girls competition, and Grant Okonok won the 13-year-old boys competition with a 91.

Sam McLanahan and Ethan Rhodes tied for the nine-hole boys 12-year-old field with 52. Luke Manchini won the 10-year-old field with a 54, and Arie Kerstetter's 62 won the girls nine-hole division
