The final two Blair County high school baseball teams still playing will both be hosting PIAA first round playoff games Monday.
Altoona, which defeated State College to win the District 6 Class 6A title and then topped District 10's McDowell in a subregional game, will host WPIAL runner-up Upper St. Clair at Mansion Park at 4 p.m.
At the same time, District 6 Class 3A champion Central will host WPIAL runner-up Mohawk.
In the 2A bracket, District 6 runner-up Portage will travel to District 5 champion Everett with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m., and in the 1A bracket, District 6 runner-up Williamsburg will travel to District 5 champion Southern Fulton for a game in Warfordsburg scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
In other baseball games featuring District 5 and 6 schools, Bishop McCort will host Rockwood at 6 p.m. Monday in the Class 1A bracket, Mount Union will host Riverside at 4 p.m. in the 2A field, Penns Valley will take on Punxsutawney at Showers Field in DuBois at 4 p.m. in 3A, Central Mountain will take on Bethel Park at Lock Haven University at 4 p.m. in a 5A game, and in 4A, Montour will play Bellefonte, and Somerset will travel to West Mifflin for 4 p.m. games.
Two teams from the Mirror's core coverage area are still alive in the high school softball playoffs.
District 6 Class 2A runner-up Claysburg-Kimmel will travel to District 3 champion Upper Dauphin High School in Elizabethville for a 4 p.m. first-round game on Monday, and District 6 Class 1A runner-up Glendale will travel to District 5 champion Meyersdale at 4:30 p.m.
Also in Class 2A, Everett will host Frazier at 4:30 p.m., and Southern Huntingdon will host Fairfield at 4 p.m.
Bald Eagle Area, which defeated Westmont Hilltop, 10-4, in the District 6 Class 3A championship on Friday, will host Southmoreland at 4 p.m. on Monday, and Westmont will take on Avonworth at Mars High School at 2 p.m.
In addition to Glendale's game in 1A, Conemaugh Valley will host West Greene at 4 p.m., and Shade will take on Union at Neshannock High School at noon.
Mifflin County will host North Allegheny in a 6A game at 4, and Central Mountain will host North Hills in a 5A game at 3 p.m.
In Class 4A, where no District 6 teams entered the postseason, District 9 champion Clearfield will play District 10 runner-up Franklin at Heindl Field in DuBois at 5 p.m.
