ARMAGH -- Steven Yeckley won both the 110- and 300-meter hurdles for Cambria Heights at the Appalachian Invitational to help the Highlanders finish second to Windber in the 15-team event in high school track and field Friday.
Brock Eckenrode won an 800-meter title in 2:13.19 for the Highlanders, and Tanner Trybus won the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 2.75 inches.
Portage, which finished third on the girls side behind champion Marion Center and runner-up Conemaugh Township, got championships from Isabella Bartoletti in the javelin (102 feet, 1 inch) and Alyssa Hoberney in the high jump (5 feet, 1 inch).

Irons succeeds
LOCK HAVEN -- Tyrone Area High School junior Reagan Irons collected three top 3 finishes in the 23-team Bald Eagle Invitational, hosted by Lock Haven University.
Irons won the triple jump with a leap of 10.55 meters (34.6 feet), was second in the long jump with a 4.90 meters (16.1 feet) and was third in the high jump at 1.49 meters (4.9 feet).
The Lady Eagles, who finished fifth in the team standings, boasted three other second-place finishes -- Rebecca Lewis in the 400-meter dash, Natalie Saltsgiver in the high jump and the team's 4×100 relay squad.
The Tyrone boys tied for 17th place with Adam Detwiler placing fourth in the 800 run.

Edith Manfred of Grier School competed at the WVU Mountaineer Showcase Invitational where she placed eighth in the 3200 run.
Manfred, a junior, finished in 11:41.04. The race was won by Irene Riggs of Morgantown High School in 9:54, the 11th-fastest time ever in that event in the country.

WARFORDSBURG -- Everett topped Williamsburg, 116-27, in boys track and field while Southern Fulton edged the Blue Pirates, 64-54, on Thursday.
On the girls side, Everett cruised, 118-10, over Williamsburg, and Southern Fulton won, 58-16.

EBENSBURG -- The Central Cambria boys defeated Bishop McCort, 141-8, and Westmont Hilltop, 124-26, Thursday.
The Red Devils got two wins each from Aiden Lechleitner (800, 1600), Jonathan Wess (110 hurdles, long jump), Will Westrick (shot put, discus) and Cody Roberts (triple jump, pole vault).
The Lady Devils topped Westmont, 97-53, and Bishop McCort, 144.5-5.5 with the help of wins from Annaliese Niebauer in the 1600- and 3200-meter runs on Thursday.
