Bellwood takes three each for boys, girls

EVERETT -- The Bellwood-Antis boys and girls high school track and field teams swept their opponents on Tuesday, with both teams beating Everett, Fannett-Metal and Southern Huntingdon.

The triple winner on the day was Lexi Lovrich, who won the 800, 1600 and 3200. Double winners included Lydia Worthing in the high jump and pole vault, Sophia Nelson in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, and Hunter Shawley in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles.

Tigers triumph

WINGATE -- The Hollidaysburg boys and girls high school track and field teams improved to 3-0 Tuesday, thanks to wins over Bald Eagle Area.

The boys won 112-38 behind Isaac Yarnell, who won the 200 and 400, as well as being a part of the 1600 relay team with Ryan Frank, Elijah Ransom and Drew Wyland.

The girls won 104-45 behind Marin Miller, who won the 100, 200, the long jump and was part of the 1600 relay team with Sophia Moyer, Allison Burk and Aubree Waksmonski.

Tyrone boys shine

CLEARFIELD -- The Tyrone boys beat Philipsburg-Osceola (102-47 and Clearfield (89-61) while the Tyrone girls split, beating P-O (84-65) while losing to Clearfield (77-71).

On the boys side, Andrew Weaver won the high jump (5-10) and the triple jump (38-8) while Kolten Miller took the 100 (11.84) and was part of the winning 400 relay team of Deegan Baldauf, Weaver and Brady Ronan (46.19). Ronan also won the long jump (19-9.5).

Keegan Gwinn captured the javelin (144-8) while the 3200 relay team of Tom Sutt, Rory Quigley, Phil Morroni and Aiden Detwiler won in 9:22.22.

On the girls side, Mackenzie Latchford captured the long jump (17-.5), the 100 (13.28) and the 200 (27.28). Teammate Reagan Irons won the high jump (5-0) and the triple jump (32-8).

NBC boys cruise

LOYSBURG -- R.J. Gates (110 and 300 hurdles), Dhylan Miller (1600 and 3200 runs) and Griffin Keller (100 and 200 dash) were double winners for Northern Bedford as the Panthers captured the quad meet with McConnellsburg, Juniata Valley and Williamsburg by earning 131 points.

The Spartans were second with 67 followed by the Green Hornets (39) and Blue Pirates (21).

On the girls side, NBC's Julia Helsel (high jump) and Lizzy Long (discus) were the only local winners as the Lady Panthers finished in third with 68.5 points, while the Lady Blue Pirates collected four.

The Lady Hornets won the girls meet with 97 points, while McConnellsburg was second with 87.5.
