MARTINSBURG -- The Central softball team opened its high school season Friday with a 7-2 victory over Huntingdon.
Winning pitcher Madison Kennedy struck out 10 while giving up three hits and five walks for the complete-game victory.
Maya Hazenstab and Aubrey Rhodes each had two RBIs for Central, which led 2-0 after three innings.

LOYSBURG -- Olivia Walter smacked a three-run homer, and Lauren Heck and Lacy McIlnay each had two hits for Northern Bedford in a 22-9 loss to McConnellsburg in a six-inning contest.
Deerin Davis added three RBIs to go with two from Abby Kline in a game the Lady Panthers trailed, 10-9, after three innings.
