Three area wrestlers -- two from Altoona and another from Hollidaysburg -- were named No. 1 seeds for the District 6 Class 3A Tournament at the zoom seeding meeting on Tuesday night.
Altoona senior Luke Hileman (28-3) was announced as the top seed at 106, while freshman star Luke Sipes (28-1) is the No. 1 seed at a four-man 152 pounds. Hollidaysburg senior Aaron Sleeth (21-11) is the top seed at 172.
There is no Blair County second or third seeds, but Altoona's Will Young (145) and Connor Reimer (189) are fourth seeds. Hollidaysburg's Carson Krupka (106) is also a fourth seed.
Seven other area wrestlers are seeded fifth. The top four wrestlers at each weight class qualify for the Northwest Regional Tournament, which returns next week to the Altoona Fieldhouse.
Hollidaysburg's Noah Horne (120), Jacob Brua (132), Mitchell Baronner (138), Quinton Ritchey (145) and Nicklas Eppihimer (215) are No. 5 seeds. Altoona's Nick Irwin (113) and Elijah Houser (172) are also seeded fifth.
The seven-team tournament begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Fieldhouse with the quarterfinals. The semifinals and consolations will follow at around 11:30 a.m. The 12:45 p.m. consolation semifinals will wrap up the first session.
The placing rounds, including the championship finals, third-place bouts and fifth-place bouts, begin at 3 p.m.
Mifflin County has four No. 1 seeds in Nic Allison (113), Kyler Everly (160), Trey Shoemaker (189) and Jaxon Pupo (285).
Central Mountain's Dalton Perry (126) and Luke Simcox (132), State College's Pierson Manville (138) and Nick Pavlechko (215), Bellefonte's Jude Swisher (145) and Juniata's Casey Smith (120) are also seeded No. 1 at their weights.
