Bellwood-Antis coach steps down

Bellwood-Antis superintendent Thomas McInroy revealed at the end of the Bellwood-Antis school board meeting on Tuesday night that Blue Devils head wrestling coach, Kyle Fink, who was in his first year at Bellwood, abruptly resigned as coach prior to B-A’s dual meet against Everett the same night.

Going into the dual meet with the Warriors, Bellwood-Antis was 0-13 in dual meets this season. The Blue Devils nearly picked up their first win Tuesday but fell to 0-14 after a 31-30 loss to Everett on Criteria F.

“We have a plan in place, but I have no comment further than that,” Bellwood-Antis athletic director Charlie Burch said. “We’ll be wrestling Tyrone on Thursday at Bellwood.”

Bellwood-Antis lost on Criteria F which is greater number of technical falls.

The Blue Devils did receive falls from Xander Shank at 160, Ethan Norris at 215 and Aarron Laird at 285.

Dragons triumph

BEDFORD — On a night that featured five double forfeits, Central defeated Bedford, 30-15.

The Scarlet Dragons got a pin from Jaxon Matthews at 138, and forfeit wins at four other weight classes.

WINGATE — Bald Eagle Area picked up five wins by fall in a 58-6 over Hollidaysburg.

The Tigers got decisions from Nickolas Eppihimer at 215 and Rally Hoover at 285.
