CRESSON -- Six wrestlers from the Mirror coverage area advanced to Saturday's semifinals at the 47-team Panther Holiday Classic at Mount Aloysius College.
Glendale brothers Zeke Dubler (160) and Suds Dubler (172) breezed to the semifinals by going a combined 6-0 with four pins, a technical fall and a decision.
Tyrone's Korry Walls (113), Altoona freshman sensation Luke Sipes (152), Penn Cambria's Austin Wagner (189) and Central Cambria's Ethan Kubat (189) also advanced to the semifinals.
Wagner will wrestle Kubat in the semifinals. The semifinals are set for 11:30 a.m. Wrestling resumes at 9 a.m. with the fourth round of consolations. The third, fifth and seventh-place bouts are scheduled for 3:30 p.m., and the championship finals will follow at around 5.
Zeke Dubler, who was a tournament runner-up two years ago as a freshman, recorded pins in 50 seconds and 28 seconds before racking a 16-0 technical fall over St. Marys' Isaac Dellaquila in the quarters.
Suds Dubler had pins in 9 seconds and 46 seconds before beating St. Marys' Waylon Wehler, 10-4.
Walls had a pin in 1:22 and two decisions, including a 5-1 win over North Allegheny's William Bentrim.
Sipes had a pin in 58 seconds and a 15-0 technical fall over West Branch's John Myers before pinning Penn Cambria's Austin McCloskey in 41 seconds.
Wagner recorded a pin in 13 seconds and beat Penns Valley's Hunter Lyons, 6-2, before edging South Williamsport's Lane Lusk, 7-5.
Kubat recorded pins in 3:31 and 3:52 before beating Trinity's Drew Cain, 5-1, in the quarterfinals.
Altoona is in seventh place in the team standings with 74.5 points. Glendale is tied with Woodbridge (Va.) with 64.5 points in 12th place.
