The PIAA Class 3A baseball semifinal game between District 6 champion Central and runner-up Tyrone scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. tonight at Peoples Natural Gas Field will not start on time due to a weather delay in the game prior to the matchup between the Mountain League rivals.
Central Mountain’s PIAA Class 5A semifinal game scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. as the first game of a doubleheader at PNG Field was delayed by impending weather just before the first pitch until at least 4 p.m.
Central coach A.J. Hoenstine tweeted that meant the Tyrone-Central game would not start on time.
The severe weather threat was expected to clear up around 6 p.m.
The winner of tonight’s game will play in the PIAA Class 3A state championship game on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park in State College.
