Heights captures nail-biter

PATTON — Cambria Heights scored a run in the bottom of the fifth inning to edge Central Cambria, 1-0, in a pitchers’ duel in high school softball action on Tuesday.

Heights’ Paige Jones tossed a two-hitter with 15 strikeouts, while Central Cambria’s Kami Kamzik gave up four hits and struck out 17.

Martina White doubled in Maddie Bender with the game’s only run. Ari Westrick had two of Heights’ four hits.
