Fisher, McCready claim titles

READING — Hollidaysburg Area High School boasted two champions at the Governor Mifflin Holiday Wrestling Tournament on Saturday.

Senior Nate Fisher won the 170-pound bracket, and senior Mason McCready won the 182-pound class as the Golden Tigers finished sixth out of 24 teams. Others who placed for Hollidaysburg included Sam Haines (third, 285), Campbell Walls (fifth, 160) and Aaron Sleeth (seventh, 138).

THIRD PLACE: 285–Haines, H, dec. Miller, PV, 3-2 UTB.

FIFTH PLACE: 160–Walls, H, won by forfeit.

SEVENTH PLACE: 138–Sleeth, H, dec. Hale, COC, 6-2.

McGill wins title

CANONSBURG — Chestnut Ridge’s Jared McGill defended his 170-pound championship with a 4-2 decision in the final at the Powerade Tournament at Canon-McMillan High School.

Duane Knisely finished fifth in the 220-pound weight class for the Lions.

CC falls in duals

BLOOMSBURG — Central Cambria fell to Central Columbia, 46-26, at the Bob Rohm Duals. Daniel Lazer and Cole Keiper had falls to the Red Devils.

The Red Devils also fell to Mifflinburg, 57-16.

Vikings get six pins

HOUTZDALE — Cameron Fyock, Ben Kasaback, Seth Dudurich, Cory Johnston, Dustin Hockenberry and Evan Duclo won by fall for Glendale in a victory over Moshannon Valley, 55-21.

LANCASTER — Penn Cambria’s Derek Brown won his weight class at the Conestoga Valley Holiday Classic.
