ROARING SPRING -- Nason Hospital has changed its name to Conemaugh Nason Medical Center.
Tim Harclerode, who has been CEO of the hospital for about 15 months, announced the change to employees, medical staff and volunteers on Wednesday.
"A subtle change, our new name of Conemaugh Nason Medical Center allows us to maintain our strong tie to the community, and it better reflects our continuous growth and expansion as a member of the Conemaugh Health System and LifePoint Health," Harclerode said in a memo to staff.
"We are no longer just a hospital; we are the health care leader for our region, offering community members access to services across the full continuum of care."
The hospital also has changed its logo. Conemaugh's pyramid image is included in the new logo.
"In the coming days and weeks you will see our new name and logo appear in various places, at the hospital and throughout the community," he said. "We will be updating signage at our facilities, updating hospital documents and launching an advertising campaign.
"Since our hospital first opened more than a century ago, we have maintained a strong commitment to continuously deliver high quality, compassionate care right here in Roaring Spring and surrounding communities, close to home for the people we serve."
LifePoint Hospitals announced its purchase of Nason Hospital on Feb. 2, 2015. As part of the acquisition, Nason Hospital became part of the Johnstown-based Conemaugh Health System. At that time, LifePoint said it would invest
$8.5 million in capital improvements at Nason in the next 10 years.
LifePoint operates more than 60 hospital campuses in 21 states. It is based in Brentwood, Tenn.
