Pirates will be part of first draft lottery

The Associated Press LAS VEGAS — As soon as general managers started arriving in Las Vegas for their annual meetings, Major League Baseball set some odds — for its first amateur draft lottery. MLB said Monday the lottery will take place on Dec. 6 at the winter meetings in San Diego, determining the top six picks next summer. $2.4 million grant slated for PNG Field

Curve set times, fireworks for 2023

The Altoona Curve, Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, announced their home game times and fireworks dates for the 2023 season. The season will again feature 6 p.m. start times for many of the team’s games at Peoples Natural Gas Field with 18 fireworks shows sprinkled in throughout the 25th season of Curve baseball. Lots to love about Curve this season

The Curve compiled an overall record of 71-66. They went 33-36 in the first half of the Eastern League season, then played much better in the second half, going 38-30, but still missed out on the playoffs.
