From Mirror reports RICHMOND, Va. — Kyle Nicolas struck out 10 batters for the first time as a Pirates minor leaguer on Tuesday night in Richmond, but a Riley Mahan three-run home run pushed the Flying Squirrels passed the Curve, 6-2, in the opening game of the six-game series at the Diamond. Rain forces Curve into playing Saturday twinbill

READING — Altoona and Reading will play a doubleheader Saturday at First Energy Stadium Friday’s game between Reading and Altoona was postponed due to inclement weather. The twinbill will start at 5 p.m. with a pair of seven-inning games. Righty Aaron Shortridge will start game one for the Curve with fellow righty Matt Eckelman slated for game two.
