By Jarrod Prugar For the Mirror The Altoona Curve’s rally to erase a five-run deficit fell short as they fell 5-4 to the Erie SeaWolves Sunday night in front of 7,381 fans at PNG Field. The Curve fell behind 3-0 early with the SeaWolves scoring three runs off Altoona starter Anthony Solometo in the first inning. For former Altoona Curve outfielder Alex Presley, baseball is what brought him to Altoona as a player, but it’s his journey through faith that brings him back to PNG Field for Faith Night Sunday night. His faith served as a backbone of his seven year career in the Major Leagues that saw him play for the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Minnesota Twins, Houston Astros, Milwaukee Brewers and Detroit Tigers. Young Bucs fun, but also frustrating

The biggest move the Pirates made at the trade deadline was going all in on playing the young guys. They ditched veterans Rich Hill, Carlos Santana, Ji-Hwan Bae and Austin Hedges. Shortridge goes all the way for Curve

Aaron Shortridge went the distance as the Altoona Curve took down the Erie SeaWolves, 3-2, Friday night in front of 3,880 fans at PNG Field.
