BOWIE, Md. — Po-Yu Chen struck out five batters over six innings for Altoona on Tuesday night, but the Bowie Baysox rallied for a run in the seventh inning to defeat the Curve, 3-1, at Prince George’s Stadium. Chen allowed three hits in the bottom of the first inning but did not allow a run after Sammy Siani earned his second outfield assist of the season by throwing out Samuel Basallo at third base. The Altoona Curve offense came alive late to defeat the Erie SeaWolves with a 6-2 win in front of 6,813 fans at PNG Field Sunday night. Both teams were scoreless through five as Altoona starter Thomas Harrington and Erie’s Austin Bergner went toe-to-toe in a pitcher’s duel. The Altoona Curve outlasted the Erie SeaWolves with a 6-5 win in front of 3,372 fans at PNG Field Friday night. It was a back-and-forth battle that saw the Curve trail by three after a three-run third inning by the SeaWolves. Altoona got two runs back in the fourth and then took the lead in the fifth inning.
