HARRISBURG -- The Altoona Curve began their six-game series at Harrisburg by dropping their fourth straight game.
Despite another strong start from left-hander Nick Dombkowski, Altoona fell to the Senators, 4-3, on Tuesday night.
Facing top Nationals prospect Jarlin Susana, who threw 16 of his 45 pitches at 100 mph or above, the Curve grabbed two first-inning runs.
Murf Gray drove in Titus Dumitru with a double into the right-field corner. After a hit batsman put runners on first and third with two outs, Lonnie White Jr. reached on an error to bring Gray home and make it 2-0.
Callan Moss slammed a solo homer with one out in the third inning off Susana, marking his 10th of the season.
Harrisburg got one run off Dombkowski in the first inning before he dialed in and retired 10-of-12 hitters with a pair of double play balls mixed in.
Harrisburg put two runners on in the fifth inning before Dombkowski struck out rehabbing Nationals outfielder James Wood with a fastball to strand a pair and hold the lead at 3-1.
Dombkowski left with the lead after five innings, allowing just one run on six hits and no walks with five strikeouts.
The Senators scored one in the sixth and plated two runs off the Curve bullpen in the seventh inning to take the 4-3 lead on sacrifice flies from Kevin Made and Devin Fitz-Gerald. Jaycob Deese was charged with both runs in the inning after allowing a pair of hits to start the frame.
Sean Sullivan covered the final two innings, allowing just two baserunners.
Altoona continues its series in Harrisburg at 6:30 tonight. LHP Connor Oliver will start on the mound for the Curve with RHP Josh Randall slated to start for Harrisburg.
