BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Binghamton hit a pair of home runs on its way to a 7-3 win over the Curve on Sunday afternoon at Mirabito Stadium.
The Curve finished their series at Binghamton with a 1-5 record.
The Curve's Keiner Delgado started the day with a bang, slamming the first pitch thrown by Mets rehabber Justin Hagenman over the right field wall for a solo homer. Delgado's ninth homer of the season was the third leadoff solo home run hit by the Curve this season, the second for Delgado.
Binghamton responded with a two-run homer from Jefferson Rojas in the bottom of the first inning off Peyton Stumbo. The Curve drew even in the third inning on a sacrifice fly from Lonnie White Jr., however, Binghamton's Corey Collins hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the fourth off Stumbo to take a 5-2 lead that the Rumble Ponies didn't relinquish.
Stumbo suffered the loss, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks over four innings. Jake Shirk held Binghamton scoreless in the fifth and sixth, before the Rumble Ponies scored twice in the seventh on a single from Mitch Voit.
Jesus Castillo picked up two hits and scored on a wild pitch in the fifth inning to record the lone multi-hit game for the Curve. Murf Gray was hit by a pitch and walked.
Jaycob Deese wrapped up the game on the mound with 1ª scoreless frames of relief with three strikeouts. Deese has allowed just one earned run in his last 11 outings, covering 17.1 innings with 17 strikeouts.
Saturday's game
The Rumble Ponies held Altoona to just four hits and three walks in a 4-0 win over the Curve on Saturday night at Mirabito Stadium.
Rumble Ponies starter R.J. Gordon tossed six scoreless innings to earn the victory. The Curve were bit by the double play bug in each of the first three innings, negating singles in each inning.
Dominic Pipkin started a bullpen day for the Curve, his sixth consecutive outing takes as a starter. Pipkin struggled to work ahead in the count and surrendered three runs on one hit and four walks across the first two innings. Pipkin threw 56 pitches before handing the ball off to Aaron Shortridge who fired a quick, scoreless, third inning but allowed a solo homer in the fourth.
Landon Tomkins, Sean Sullivan and Jarod Bayless combined for five scoreless innings of relief after the fourth, allowing just one baserunner with five strikeouts.
