Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Murf Gray is being promoted to Altoona and will be joining the team ahead of their series in Reading after the All-Star break.
Sources confirmed to the Mirror on Tuesday that the Fresno State product will be jumping another level this season having already excelled in both Low-A Bradenton and High-A Greensboro.
Gray slashed .328/.406/.608 across both levels this season with 23 home runs.
The 73rd overall pick of the 2025 MLB Draft, Gray has handled his first professional season with relative ease. He has made only six errors at third base this season and is climbing the prospect rankings thanks in large part to his emergence on the field and at the plate in A-ball.
It is expected he will get the bulk of the reps at third base while also getting some games as the designated hitter with the Curve.
