RICHMOND, Va. -- Altoona jumped out to a 6-2 lead after three innings, however, the Richmond Flying Squirrels scored eight unanswered runs across the fourth to sixth innings and earned a 10-6 win over the Curve at The Diamond.
Altoona scored three first-inning runs with four straight baserunners to start the game. Mitch Jebb doubled and after Duce Gourson walked, Termarr Johnson bunted his way aboard and Jebb flew around the basepaths to score. Nick Cimillo followed with a two-run homer to make it 3-0.
After Richmond scored twice off Dominic Perachi in the second, the Curve offense went back to work in the third. Johnson began the inning with a walk and advanced to third after Cimillo doubled to right. Esmerlyn Valdez slammed his second home run in a Curve uniform to take a 6-2 advantage.
Richmond drew even with four runs in the fourth against Perachi, and then took the lead on an RBI double from Carter Howell in the fifth inning against Tyler Samaniego.
The Flying Squirrels added three runs in the sixth inning against right-hander Mike Walsh who was making his team debut. Curve pitchers combined for eight walks issued in the game and just six strikeouts. Valentin Linarez tossed two scoreless innings out of the bullpen to finish off the game.
Johnson picked up two hits and a walk for Altoona. Cimillo now holds a 1.082 OPS in his last 19 games.

Altoona will play road series with each of the five Southwest Division opponents and four Northeast Division opponents during the campaign.
The month of April features series with two division opponents, Richmond and Harrisburg, and one series with a Northeast Division opponent, Portland. Altoona's first road trip of the season is slated for April 7-12 at Richmond. The Curve will travel to Harrisburg for its second road trip of the season.
Following an early May road trip to Maryland to take on the Baysox, Altoona will play two weeks at PNG Field before embarking on a two-week road trip to Hartford and New Hampshire from the end of May into June. After a week-long home series with Chesapeake, the Curve will head out to Akron for a series with the RubberDucks in the final week of the first half.
To start the second half, Altoona will begin with a week-long series at home against Reading before heading up to Maine for a week-long series from June 30-July 5 with Portland.
The month of July also features a road trip to Reading, the first for the team since 2023, as part of a nine-game road trip that includes a trip to Akron coming out of the All-Star Break. As the schedule turns to August, the Curve make their first and only trip to Erie in the first week of the calendar month and spend a week in Binghamton in late August.
Altoona wraps up the schedule with three series in a row against division opponents. A week-long series at home against Erie is followed by a week-long trip to Harrisburg and the final week of the season comes at home against Akron.
