Nick Cimillo’s homer lifts Altoona Curve over Harrisburg Senators

The hot start to the second half of the Eastern League season continued for the Curve on Thursday night.
Nick Cimillo delivered a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Curve a 4-2 victory over the Harrisburg Senators in front of a big crowd of 9,165 fans at PNG Field.
The Curve swept the three-game home series with the Senators and are now 8-1 to being the second half of the season.

Carlos De La Cruz gave Harrisburg an early lead with a solo homer in the second inning and added a double later in the game.
The Curve tied it in the bottom of the third inning on a Mitch Jebb single that scored Jase Bowen.
Phillip Glasser’s RBI double in the fifth put the Senators back in front, but Altoona tied it in the sixth on a Kervin Pichardo single to score Termarr Johnson.
Alessandro Ercolani started on the mound for the Curve and gave up two earned runs on five hits in five innings.
Tyler Samaniego worked two innings of shutout relief pitching, and Wilkin Ramos followed with two shutout innings as well and struck out four batters.
Brandan Bidois then also threw two shutout innings in the 10th and the 11th to earn the win and improve his record to 2-0.
Harrisburg went just 1-for-15 with runners in scoring position. Both teams left 10 runners on base.
The teams will now play three games in Harrisburg starting tonight. Antwone Kelly is scheduled to start for the Curve.
