BOWIE, Md. -- Seth Beer and Jackson Glenn each hit their first home runs of the season Thursday night as the Curve snapped a four-game losing streak with a 7-6 win over the Bowie Baysox at Prince George's Stadium.
Altoona took the lead in the first off Bowie starter Alex Pham on an Abrahan Gutierrez RBI double to score Joe Perez. Pham surrendered a solo shot to Beer in the second before Tres Gonzalez followed with a single and Mike Jarvis with a double. Tsung-Che Cheng then singled home a run before Perez lifted a sacrifice fly to make it a 4-0 game.
Glenn kept the offense going for the Curve in the third with a two-run shot off Pham to make it 6-0. A much-needed insurance run came for the Curve in the sixth inning on an RBI single from Gonzalez.
Bubba Chandler got the win for Altoona. He struck out five in five innings of work, allowing two runs on six hits.
The Baysox scored four unanswered runs off the Curve bullpen to make it 7-6 but Isaac Mattson got the final out to end the game for his first save this season.
