BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — The Curve finished off an excellent series with another strong showing Sunday afternoon.

Altoona defeated Binghamton, 6-1, at Mirabito Stadium to finish 5-1 in the series. The Curve had lost 12 of 15 entering the series before dominating the Rumble Ponies.

Four home runs Sunday helped Altoona win easily, starting with Jared Triolo opening the game by smashing a long ball. It was the second time in the series Triolo did that, the other coming Wednesday.

Andres Alvarez hit his 18th home run, while Blake Sabol smacked his 13th and Endy Rodriguez hit his second of the week since joining the Curve.

Altoona scored three runs in the fourth inning for a 4-1 lead and cruised from there. Rodriguez and Sabol had two hits apiece.

Luis Ortiz had another strong start, giving up one run on three hits over four innings. Nick Dombkowski (2-1) won in relief with two scoreless innings.

The only game the Curve lost in the series came Saturday night, 2-0.

Altoona is off today, then returns home Tuesday to begin a six-game series against Harrisburg. The Senators are 13-26 in the second half and are 3-7 in the last 10 games.
