MANCHESTER, N.H. -- The Curve wrapped up the first half of the season with a slugfest road victory Sunday, ending it in style with a big ninth inning.
Altoona scored three runs in the ninth for a 9-6 getaway day win over New Hampshire at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The Curve finished the first half with a 33-36 record.
The second half will begin Tuesday when the club returns home for a series against Harrisburg. The record will reset, with everyone in the Eastern League starting over.
Henry Davis homered in the second inning and hit a go-ahead RBI double in the ninth. Another run scored on that hit after an error, and Jared Triolo's RBI fielder's choice added an insurance run.
Matt Gorski hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning, his sixth with the Curve and 23rd on the season.
Tyler Samaniego (1-1) won in relief for the Curve.
The Curve lost Saturday night, 6-5, as the Fisher Cats won in walk-off fashion in the ninth inning. Davis had two hits and an RBI in the loss.
