CBS Sports and Tony Romo have officially parted ways, one month after the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback pleaded no contest to charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Romo had been on leave since his July 23 arrest in Wisconsin. He had been the lead game analyst for CBS' NFL coverage since 2017.
"CBS Sports and Tony Romo have mutually agreed to part ways," CBS Sports said Friday in a statement. "We thank Tony for his contributions over the past nine years and wish him the best moving forward."
Analyst JJ Watt had joined play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson on CBS Sports' lead NFL team during Romo's absence. Watt will continue in that role now and all other CBS teams will remain the same.
Romo was arrested following a traffic stop as he was driving south on Interstate 43 in Wisconsin. He pleaded no contest to a charge of operating while intoxicated on Sept. 1 and issued a statement apologizing for the actions that led to his arrest.
According to Milwaukee County court records, Romo lost his driving privileges for six months and was ordered to complete an alcohol assessment program.
49ers owner suspended
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The NFL suspended San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York for six games Friday following his arrest earlier this year in a prostitution sting in Ohio.
The league announced that York also was fined $500,000 for violating the league's personal conduct policy. York has not attended any games or league meetings so far this season and was credited with three games served. He is eligible to return on Oct. 20, following the team's game the previous night against Washington. The NFL's fall league meetings begin that day in New York.
York said in a statement released by the team that he accepts the punishment given by the league and apologized for his actions.
Coach Kyle Shanahan said later Friday that he didn't believe anything would change from the operation of the team on the field over the final three weeks of the suspension. Shanahan that if he and general manager John Lynch wanted to make a major move during that time, they probably would tell York's father, John, about it, but that ownership has always deferred to Shanahan and Lynch on those decisions.
York was arrested in a mobile home park by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force after police said he was attempting to pay $160 for sex with a woman he believed to be a prostitute.
Raven ruled out
OWINGS MILLS, Md -- Baltimore Ravens edge rusher Trey Hendrickson will miss Sunday's game against Tennessee because of a finger injury.
Coach Jesse Minter says Hendrickson had a procedure to fix the issue and will not play. Minter says he expects Hendrickson's absence to be "very, very short-term."
The Ravens signed Hendrickson in the offseason to boost their pass rush. He has one sack through three games. Baltimore will also be missing centers Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Pocic against the Titans.
Raiders minus starter
LAS VEGAS -- The Las Vegas Raiders ruled out starting right guard Jackson Powers-Johnson with a groin injury ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Caleb Rogers will start in his place for Sunday's game between undefeated AFC West rivals. Rogers and Powers-Johnson competed for the starting right guard spot during training camp, with both getting first team reps.
Raiders coach Klint Kubiak said Friday the competition was helpful in preparing Rogers to step in.
Jets offense hurting
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The New York Jets have ruled out four offensive starters for their game Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
Coach Aaron Glenn says running back Breece Hall, wide receiver Adonai Mitchell, tight end Mason Taylor and left guard Dylan Parham will miss the game because of injuries.
Linebacker Kiko Mauigoa is also out. The Jets are 1-2 and face a tough challenge against the Bears, who rank among the NFL leaders in total yards and points. Hall is the Jets' leading rusher and Glenn says he is "week to week" after a quadriceps injury. Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis are expected to take on more carries in his absence.
Jefferson sidelined
The Minnesota Vikings ruled out star receiver Justin Jefferson for Sunday's game against the Dolphins because of an ankle sprain suffered last week against Tampa Bay, and Miami will be without rookie receiver Caleb Douglas for a second straight game as he continues nursing an ankle injury.

Jefferson suffered the injury in the first quarter of Minnesota's Week 3 win against the Buccaneers and missed practice this week.
The two-time All-Pro receiver watched from the sideline for a couple of series before walking to the locker room midway through the second quarter. It appeared Jefferson got hurt when a defender fell onto his right ankle.
Jefferson has 13 catches for 179 yards and two touchdowns through three games.
Legendary Falcon dies
ATLANTA -- Jeff Van Note, a six-time Pro Bowl center who spent all 18 seasons of his NFL career with Atlanta and was inducted into the team's Ring of Honor in 2006, has died, the Falcons announced Friday. He was 80.
The team did not announce a cause of death.
Van Note, selected out of Kentucky in the 11th round of the 1969 NFL draft, originally joined the Falcons as a linebacker before being moved to center by then-coach Norm Van Brocklin. He earned the starting job a year later and started 226 of 246 games over his 18-season career. He was a second-team All-Pro in 1979 and 1982.
After retiring in 1986, Van Note became a color commentator and made Atlanta sports radio appearances.
Mariota gets the nod
WATFORD, England -- Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota will get his second straight start in place of the injured Jayden Daniels on Sunday when Washington faces the Indianapolis Colts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Head coach Dan Quinn announced the decision Friday after practice at the team's luxury hotel accommodations outside London. Daniels returned to practice this week after dislocating his elbow in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys.
He's been wearing a protective brace and expressed no concerns about further damage.
