Ravens are aware of Bateman arrest

BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Ravens said Friday they are aware of Rashod Bateman's arrest in June in Georgia over a domestic violence incident and have been in contact with their receiver.
The Ravens have informed the NFL, and league spokesman Brian McCarthy says the case is under review.
"We notified the league office and have been cooperating throughout the process," the team said in a statement. "As this is a pending legal matter, we will not have further comment."
According to TMZ, Bateman was arrested after smashing a window of the vehicle being driven by the mother of his child, with the 3-month-old inside. TMZ cited court documents that said the victim told authorities the incident happened around 6 a.m. on June 6.
According to the arrest warrant, Bateman used an object to smash the driver's side window, and the shattered glass caused multiple small lacerations to the victim's face.
Bateman's representatives said the receiver turned himself in to the Walton County sheriff's office the same day. A court later granted Bateman's request to lift a no-contact order after he said the victim indicated she did want to have contact with him.
Last year, Bateman signed a $37 million, three-year contract extension coming off career bests of 756 yards and nine touchdowns receiving in 2024. The 26-year-old Georgia native who played in college at Minnesota dropped off to a career-low 224 yards with two TDs last season.
Seattle injury
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Seattle wide receiver Jake Bobo will have tests after being carted off the field Friday from the Seahawks' joint practice with the Tennessee Titans with what coach Mike Macdonald called a serious right knee injury.
Bobo was hurt along the sideline with players from both teams taking a knee before a cart came onto the field and took him away.
The wide receiver going into his fourth NFL season has played 45 games, including 11 last season as Seattle along with three playoff games as the Seahawks won the Super Bowl. Bobo, who earned a roster spot in 2023 as an undrafted rookie, has 34 receptions for 323 yards with three touchdowns in his career.
Chubb retiring
One of the NFL's more productive running backs from the past decade is walking away. Nick Chubb announced his retirement from the NFL on Friday following eight seasons.
Chubb, a four-time Pro Bowler and the No. 35 overall pick by the Cleveland Browns in the 2018 draft, retires with 7,349 rushing yards, 1,109 receiving yards and 59 touchdowns in 100 career games.
He suffered a gruesome knee injury at the end of the 2022 season and never really recovered from it. He had also injured his knee at Georgia in 2015.
