Braves triumph over Milwaukee in Williamsport

WILLIAMSPORT -- Michael Harris II hit a solo homer, Mauricio Dubon had an RBI ground-rule double and Tyler Mahle worked five strong innings as the Atlanta Braves beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 in the Little League Classic on Sunday night.
Harris hit an 0-2 slider from Milwaukee reliever Aaron Ashby over the right field fence to give Atlanta an insurance run in the top of the ninth. It was the 21st homer of the season for Harris and it helped NL East-leading Atlanta win for only the second time in seven games.
Dubon's hit to right field in the second inning bounced up and over the wall for a run-scoring ground rule double. He later walker, advanced to third on a single by Austin Riley and scored on a fielding error by Milwaukee first baseman Andrew Vaughn in the sixth.
Sean Murphy drove in the other Atlanta run on an infield single in the top of the fourth.
Soroka on IL
PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks placed right-hander Michael Soroka on the 15-day injured list Sunday because of right shoulder inflammation, further depleting their pitching staff as they try to stay in the National League playoff race.
It's the second time this season that Soroka has missed time with an injury. He was out for nearly two months because of a strained left glute.
"He's going to hopefully be ready on day 16," manager Torey Lovullo said. "He worked so hard to get back, you want him to have success and good health to go out and get the job done."
The 29-year-old has pitched well when healthy, with an 8-4 record and a 3.40 ERA. He had one of his worst outings on Saturday night, giving up six earned runs over 3• innings in an 11-5 loss to the Cincinnati Reds.
Soroka joins fellow starting pitchers Zac Gallen (elbow), Ryne Nelson (elbow) and Corbin Burnes (elbow) on the injured list. The D-backs hope all three pitchers will return at some point in the regular season.
Bellinger activated
NEW YORK -- The New York Yankees activated Cody Bellinger from the injured list Sunday after the outfielder missed 25 games with a strained left hamstring.
Bellinger batted fourth and started in left field for his first game since July 25 in Philadelphia. Bellinger went 1 for 4 in New York's 4-3 win over Toronto, striking out twice with a runner on base before hitting a single off Brendon Little and scoring on Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s two-run homer in the seventh inning.
"I felt all right," Bellinger said.
