Big money for Dietrich at Port Royal track

PORT ROYAL -- Danny Dietrich parked it in victory lane at the Port Royal Speedway, collecting $20,000 after an intense battle with Chase Dietz over the course of a 30-lap feature event Saturday night.
Dietrich led his first official lap with just 13 laps remaining in the race. Dietz and Dietrich were slicing their way through lapped traffic, with 2025 track champion Justin Whittall gunning them down as well. The top 3 cars separated from the field while battling for the win. Dietz got his car sucked into the top of the turn 4 wall with five laps remaining. He turned the car as hard as he could to peel his machine off, ultimately putting himself sideways in front of Whittall, who made slight contact with Dietz, who did not spin out and got straightened back out and kept going, staying inside the top 3.
Dietrich opened his lead to over two seconds, but after just three more laps, Whittall ended up doing a 360 spin in turns 3 and 4, drawing the yellow flag.
A restart with two laps remaining closed the gap once again between Dietrich and Dietz, but now Ryan Smith entered into the mix. The green flag came back out and Dietz was hanging right with Dietrich right up to the white flag as they entered the first and second corner.
Dietrich put some dirty air across the nose wing of the Stehman-owned 23, cutting his momentum and allowing Smith to pull alongside Dietz for second place.
In other action, the Penske Racing Shocks super late model competition was won by Drake Troutman who led from start to finish.
Clinton County
MILL HALL -- Jaxton Garman won the annual Len Stroud Jr. Memorial on Friday night at the Clinton County Speedway for the Limited Late Models.
In other action, Jeff Weaver Jr. won the 270s, AJ Hoffman won the Pro Stocks and Garrett Watkins and Hunter Flook each won 4-cylinder races.
Williams Grove
MECHANICSBURG -- In a performance of sheer power, Danny Dietrich took no prisoners and charged from eighth to the win in the 44th annual Jack Gunn Memorial for 410 sprint cars at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night.
To get the $8,000 win, Dietrich had to pass the nation's winningest driver in the form of Chase Dietz. Logan Rumsey was third followed by Cameron Smith and Freddie Rahmer.
In other action, Tony Jackson swept both 20-lap super sportsman mains, taking wins in both the winged and wingless divisions.
