Everett softball team moves to PIAA semifinals
SOMERSET — Everett posted a 3-2 victory over District 7 champ Bentworth in the PIAA Class 2A softball quarterfinals on Thursday at Somerset Area High School.
Lyla Levy’s one-out double in the bottom of the sixth inning drove in a run to tie the game at 2-2, and then she later scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch.
Baylee Snyder, who had two hits, scored the Lady Warriors’ first run on a Levy groundout in the fourth. Everett’s Addison Wood fired a three-hitter.
Everett, the District 5 champion, will face District 7 third seed Laurel in the semifinals on Monday.
