BEDFORD — Tyrone’s Sarah Chichester won the 100- and 200-meter dashes and was named the Outstanding Girls Runner at the SAC Energy Invitational at Bedford Area High School on Saturday.

Chichester ran the 100 in 12.86 seconds and the 200 in 26.43 seconds.

Central’s Jacob Heuston won the 400 dash in 51.06 and the 800 run in 2:04.52. He was also the runner-up in the pole vault.

Tyrone’s Claire Lehman won the 300 hurdles in 47.42, and teammate Genevieve Naylor won the javelin with a throw of 110 feet, 2 inches.

Richland won the boys title, and Forest Hills won the girls team title. Richland’s Arnold Mugerwa won Outstanding Boys Runner, and teammate Arison McCulty won Outstanding Boys Jumper. Penns Manor’s Brady Lewis won Outstanding Boys Thrower.

Richland’s Trinity Macey won Outstanding Girls Jumper, and Forest Hills’ Danika Faith won Outstanding Girls Thrower.

Sahlaney wins two events

GREENSBURG — Jaclyn Sahlaney won the 100 and 200 dashes at the Spartan Track & Field Invitational at Hempfield Area High School on Saturday.

Sahlaney’s time of 25.58 seconds broke the Hollidaysburg school record. She also placed sixth in the long jump.

Grace Muriceak was second in the javelin with a throw of 107 feet, 1 inch.

The Hollidaysburg girls and boys both finished third in the team race.

On the boys side, Braelyn Ross won the 300 hurdles and was part of a school-record time of 42.91 in a first-place effort in the 400 relay alongside Devin Walters, Cole DeLattre and Carter Muth.

Ross, Brooklyn Boggetta, Walters and Sydney Ulery won the mixed 1600 relay in 3:46.83.

Walters also won the long jump in 21 feet, 11 inches and was second in the 200 dash in 22.52, and DeLattre won the triple jump in 44 feet, 11.5 inches.
