NBC girls top Huntingdon

HUNTINGDON — Northern Bedford logged five falls in defeating Huntingdon, 42-18, in high school girls wrestling action on Wednesday.

Rachel Clouse, Yasmin Miller, Myha Dixon, Sophia Kensinger and Ryann Welsh had the falls for the Lady Panthers.

PSU Altoona voted sixth

The Penn State Altoona baseball team was predicted to finish in sixth place this season by league coaches, as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference announced its 2026 Preseason Coaches’ Poll on Wednesday morning.

Mount Aloysius was one place higher at fifth. Penn State Behrend, the back-to-back defending conference champion, took first place in the poll.

Penn State Altoona coach RJ Barnard enters his 10th year at the helm of the program. Named as players to watch in the preseason poll were senior outfielder Brian Chelli and senior first baseman/left-handed pitcher Jonathan Rauch.

Johnstown race set

JOHNSTOWN — The third annual Shamrock Shake 5K Run & Walk, hosted by the Greater Johnstown Community YMCA, will be held on Saturday, March 7.

Registration is $25 with a deadline of Monday, Feb. 16 to guarantee a free T-shirt.
