ACA archery team captures 3D trophy

The Railroad City Archery Tournament, hosted by Arrows Christian Academy in downtown Altoona, was recently held at the Blair County Convention Center where 242 students in elementary and high school from 32 different schools competed in the bullseye tournament.
There were 145 students from 20 different schools taking part in the 3D tournament.
Arrows Christian Academy won the elementary 3D division title with a score of 1,103 while Bohemia Manor, a school from Maryland, won the middle school and high school 3D titles. Upper Dauphin, which is outside the Harrisburg area, won the bullseye and middle school division titles.
Locally, Sophia Melanson of Tyrone Christian Academy, won the elementary school division 3D title with a score of 224. Fellow classmate Mikiah Walk was third with a score of 207. Melanson also won the individual bullseye division title with a score of 240.
In the high school division, Tyrone Christian Academy’s Calli Weigand finished third with a score of 271.
