Mountain Lions pick up easy win on road

SHARON — Altoona cruised to an 86-33 win over Greenville in the consolation game of the Sharon Holiday Tournament in high school boys basketball on Saturday.
Chris Wagner, who was named to the all-tournament first team, led the Mountain Lions with 16 points.
Justin Pfeffer added 13 points, and Elliott McCloskey scored 10 and both were picked to the second team all-tournament squad. Dylan Hicks also scored 10 points for Altoona.
The Mountain Lions improved to 2-8 with the victory.

WEXFORD — Bishop Guilfoyle Academy edged Butler, 51-49, after outscoring the Golden Tornado 17-4 in the second quarter at the Holiday Bash in high school boys basketball at North Allegheny High School.
Taurean Consiglio had 12 points, and Troy Ruggery added 11 points for the Marauders. Alex Krimmel chipped in with 10 points for BG.
The Marauders lost to unbeaten New Castle, 77-53, late Sunday night. A box score was not available by press time.

Pirates, Heights win
PATTON — Nolan Clawson scored a game-high 18 points, and Brayden DeArmitt added 14 points as Cambria Heights topped Glendale, 64-29, at the Cambria Heights Holiday Tournament in high school boys basketball on Saturday.
Rhylan Hoopsick-Bell led the Vikings with nine points.
In the other first round game, Williamsburg defeated West Shamokin, 59-44, with the help of an 18-point effort from Evan Reffner.
