Lady Lions gymnasts start season with ‘W’

DuBOIS — The Altoona Area High School gymnastics season began Wednesday with the Lady Lions taking down DuBois, 134.50-112.10, in scholastic action.
Altoona swept all first-place spots in the five scored categories with Katie Bettwy winning the vault (8.7), the beam (9.150) and the all-around (35.125). Teammate Taylor Knepper captured first in the bars (9.175) and the floor (9.075).
“It was an outstanding performance by the team in their first meet of the season,” Altoona coach Mark Biseli said.
