Central’s Kate Dunn and Zoe Grill, and Tyrone’s Nicole Ramsey and Ezri Bumgarner advance in doubles tennis

Defending District 6 Class 2A doubles tennis champions Kate Dunn and Zoe Grill of Central will attempt to capture another title as the duo will face off against the Tyrone team of Nicole Ramsey and Ezri Bumgarner on Wednesday at noon at Mansion Park.
Dunn and Grill earned their spot by claiming victories over Central’s Cambria Kat Kubat and Ireland DeBalli in the quarterfinals, and then defeating Westmont Hilltop’s Isabelle Parrish and Sophia Dixon in the semifinals on Monday at Mansion Park.
The Ramsey-Bumgarner team beat Central’s Breslyn Beech and Taryn Walters in the quarters, and then knocked off Central Cambria’s Taryn Ream and Madison Diet in the semifinals.
The Kubat-DeBalli team won its Round of 16 match over Tyrone’s Jocelyn Diehl and Cassidy Fleck.
The District 6 Class 3A doubles tournament is scheduled to be held today through the semifinals at Mansion Park.

Heights runs to wins
BELLWOOD — Cambria Heights swept its way past Bellwood-Antis as the boys earned a 19-28 win, while the girls got by with a 26-29 score in high school cross country action.
Mason Kline and Sierra Hoover captured the boys and girls races, respectively, for the Highlanders.
Blake Pennington was the highest finisher for the Lady Blue Devils as she was third, while Bryce Hollenbach was the first Blue Devil, finishing fourth.
