Former Green Bay Packer Jaire Alexander signs deals with Baltimore Ravens

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Jaire Alexander has signed with the Baltimore Ravens less than two weeks after the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback was released by the Green Bay Packers.

The Ravens posted video Wednesday of star quarterback Lamar Jackson enthusiastically greeting Alexander after he signed with the two-time defending AFC North champions. Jackson and Alexander were teammates at Louisville.

The Packers released Alexander on June 9.

ESPN reported the 28-year-old Alexander was getting a one-year deal with a base value of $4 million and another $2 million in incentives.

Jets ink Mevis

The New York Jets signed United Football League standout kicker Harrison Mevis and released veteran kicker Anders Carlson.

Sanders ticketed

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders is accused of driving a pickup truck 101 mph on a suburban Cleveland interstate earlier this week. The Strongsville Police Department said its officers stopped Sanders at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in a 60 mph zone on Interstate 71.
