PITTSBURGH -- The San Jose Sharks got 28-year-old defenseman Vincent Desharnais from the Pittsburgh Penguins for a 2028 fifth-round pick on Wednesday night.

Desharnais, who is under contract through next season, has been traded twice in five weeks after going from Vancouver to Pittsburgh in the deal that got the Canucks Marcus Pettersson.

That set up the Penguins to add two-time Cup-winning defenseman Luke Schenn and forward Tommy Novak from the Nashville Predators for Michael Bunting and a fourth-rounder in 2026. Bunting is out indefinitely after surgery to remove his appendix, while Schenn is signed for another season after this one and Novak for two more.

Starting at /week.
