Franklin should seek out a guest playcaller
What a poor showing from our coaching staff last Saturday.
These kids deserve a much better job from the entire coaching staff. Playcalling — or lack thereof — needs to improve.
Are we saving the best calls for the Maryland game? Who decided the three runs up the middle near the end of the game?
In critical situations starting now, how about if Franklin selects a guest playcaller from the stands! I’m sure they could do better than our staff.
Maybe Franklin should spend more time focusing on expanding the State College runway and let someone else run the team.

Penn State looks to be overrated
I don’t know which was more disturbing: Watching the last offensive series (first and goal) and followed by the last five minutes when the Buckeyes simply ran 10 straight running plays to drain the clock.
Or punishing myself further by reading the countless articles about the game with the same old (but spot-on) message about PSU and James Franklin.
I’m stunned PSU only dropped to No. 6 in the rankings. I remain unconvinced we’re very good.
I would love to make the playoffs, of course, but would not be surprised if we lose (at least) another game.

Who will Franklin blame this time?
Deja vu all over again and again and again.
Comparing this year’s game to last year, they are very eerily similar.
Take away a trash TD from last year’s game and the offense scores six points — the same as this year.
The question I have: Who will be the next offensive coordinator next year? The way Franklin places blame it’s just a matter of time before he throws Kotelnicki under the bus the way he did Yurcich.
He said the plan was to get Pribula more involved. Is he not already throwing Kotelnicki under the bus?
We just assume we win out and cruise into the playoffs, but I would bet we have at least one more loss during the regular season.
It’s time to send Franklin out of town.

PSU fans experience time warp
Up the middle, 1.
Up the middle, 2.
Up the middle, 3.
Incomplete pass into four defenders.
What a time warp!
Joe’s back, coaching from the freaking “booth.”
Sad. Very sad.
