Denis, Muriceak will play for tennis championship
The top-seeded doubles team of Crosby Denis and Grace Muriceak of Hollidaysburg advanced to today’s championship match of the District 4-6 Class 3A Doubles Tennis Tournament with two wins on Tuesday at the Summit Athletic Club.
Denis and Muriceak will face No. 2-seeded Joanna Liu and Abby Chen of State College in the final at noon today at the Summit. Central’s Kate Dunn and Zoe Grill will play Central Cambria’s Allie Morgan and Taryn Ream will square off in the District 6 2A final at the same place and time.
Denis and Muriceak defeated Altoona’s Skylar Irwin and Andie Adams, 6-2, 6-0, in the quarterfinals and beat fourth-seeded Ava Bechtel and Emma Chen of State College, 6-1, 6-0, in the semis.
Liu and Chen downed Hollidaysburg’s Emma Mortiz and Sarah Neatrour in the quarters, 6-4, 6-3, and edged No. 3-seeded Bella Graham and Courtney Irwin of Altoona, 7-5, 6-3, in the semis.

Heights rallies
ARMAGH — After falling behind 2-0, the Cambria Heights High School boys soccer team rallied for four unanswered goals to beat United, 4-2, on Tuesday.
Ethan Gilbey scored two goals for Heights, and Levi Link and Mason Eckenrode each had one.

BCC falls short
DUNCANSVILLE — Blair County Christian fell behind 3-0 in the first half and couldn’t quite rally back, falling 4-3 to DuBois Christian in boys soccer.
Seth Nicodemus scored two goals for BCC, and keeper Titus Teis made 17 saves as the Bobcats dropped to 6-5-2.
