Saylor contributes in AAHS win

Ellaina Saylor fronted Altoona with 16 digs, 15 kills and 11 service points to lead the Lady Lions to a 3-1 (20-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-14) victory over Cumberland Valley at the Altoona Fieldhouse Thursday night in girls high school volleyball play.

Annie Steinbugl recorded 11 points, 11 kills and 19 digs for Altoona, Sami Page dished out 42 assists and had 25 digs, and Karinna Wolfe and Megan Kelly accounted for 18 and 17 digs respectively.

Glendale wins in four

CLAYSBURG -- Glendale took care of Claysburg-Kimmel in four sets by claiming the final three (25-22, 25-21, 25-21) after dropping the opener (25-18).

Madi Skebeck led the Lady Vikings with 15 service points, while Rachel McClellan had 16 kills and Ava Weld totaled 15 digs.

Haydyn Lamborn totaled 11 assists for the Bulldogs, Payton Hinish registered 13 points and Lauren Roxby added seven kills.

THREE SPRINGS -- Down to an elimination set, Williamsburg rallied to win the final two to capture a 3-2 (25-23, 19-25, 19-25, 25-21, 15-9) win over Southern Huntingdon.

Raina Alexander, who finished with 15 service points and 25 digs, had nine consecutive points to start the fifth set for the Lady Blue Pirates.

Eleanor Brubaker totaled 20 points and 15 assists, Samantha England delivered 17 points and Scotty Barroner came through with 22 digs for Williamsburg.
