Lady Vikings rally for road victory

SAXTON -- Glendale got within a set of losing to Tussey Mountain, but the Lady Vikings rallied to capture the final two sets to come away with a 3-2 (16-25, 25-23, 15-25, 25-19, 15-8) victory Monday night in girls high school volleyball.

Rachel McClellan totaled 30 digs and 22 kills, Hannah Matish dished out 27 assists and had 11 service points, Addy Kelly added 13 points and 15 kills,,while Emma Dudurich recorded 29 assists and Ava Weld tallied 12 points.

JH: Glendale, 25-16, 25-21.

Altoona defeaed

STATE COLLEGE -- Altoona knotted the match after claiming the second set, but State College finished with two wins to earn a 3-1 win, 25-14, 25-27, 25-18, 25-17.

Sami Page fronted the Lady Lions with 25 assists and 15 digs, Ellaina Saylor tallied 21 digs, eight service points and six kills, while Karinna Wolfe finished with 11 digs.

Central falls short

MARTINSBURG -- Central grabbed a 2-1 set advantage but couldn't hold off Everett in a 3-2 loss, 25-22, 24-26, 23-25, 25-21, 16-14.

Amber Shade came through with 22 assists and eight service points for the Lady Scarlet Dragons, Kaylee Kensinger delivered 16 digs and six points, Sophia Marko had 15 points, while Dessa Boyles and Addie Imes came up with nine kills each

Valley triumphs

ALEXANDRIA -- Juniata Valley dropped the first set (25-23) before bouncing back to claim the next three (25-23, 25-14, 25-19) in a 3-1 win over Mifflin County.

Selena Sunderland paced the Lady Green Hornets with 26 assists, 19 digs and 11 service points, Madyson Burdge registered 13 assists and 10 points, Kaitlyn Sager tallied 12 points and eight kills, while Braelyn Hall amassed 29 digs and Kassidy Watson totaled 15 kills.
