EBENSBURG -- The Central Cambria team and nine golfers from the Mirror core coverage area advanced from the District 6 Class 2A boys golf sectionals at Ebensburg Country Club on Wednesday.
The qualifiers will compete in the District 6 2A championships on Tuesday at Scotch Valley Country Club.
Central Cambria finished tied with Westmont Hilltop for third place in the team standings, behind winner West Shamokin and River Valley. Those four teams advanced.
Central Cambria's Austin Semelsberger led the area contingent by shooting a 74, tying him for second place with River Valley's Jake Pynos. They were eight strokes behind winner Alex Talmadge of West Shamokin.
A total of 31 golfers advanced to districts, including Bishop Guilfoyle's Grant Okonak (fourth, 75) and Aiden Sheehan (19th, 85), Cambria Heights' Ian Nagel (14th, 82), Portage's Jonah Irwin (14th, 82), Trae Kargo (14th, 82) and Kaiden Zock (27th, 87), Central Cambria's Brayden Swope (17th, 84), Central's Cody Clapper (24th, 86).
