As a longtime Penn State fan, I think we are running the wrong offense.
We are running a read option running offense for a quarterback that doesn't run.
Other teams' defenses don't respect Drew Allar running. As a result, their defensive ends can crash down on our running backs.
I think we should run more of a pro-style offense with Allar. Spread things out and let him have more throwing options. When teams run zone defense, flood their zones with multiple receivers, and when they play man, run a lot of crossing and pick plays.
I would also move our backs deeper and get the ball to them quicker and deeper so they can pick their holes and hit the line of scrimmage with a full head of steam.
I've been so mad after the Ohio State and Michigan games.
Our defense played well enough to win, but the offense certainly did not. Plus I also think we played not to lose instead of playing to win.

PSU playcallers not so smart
In my 40 years in the business world, I've learned that the one who thinks he's the smartest guy in the room never is.
That is where we are and have been with James Franklin and Mike Yurcich.
They gave us crazy playcalling, unwarranted risks, chased points too early and ran wacky tricks when they weren't needed.
The game plans they put together every week look like the concoctions of two guys who think they're oh so clever.
What was that 2-point conversion against Michigan?
I can tell you one time when Franklin was the smartest guy in the room. Sunday -- the day he fired Yurcich.
I can also tell you the day when Pat Kraft will be the smartest guy in the room.

Allar has shown
he's not there yet
Drew Allar came with many accolades as a five-star quarterback out of Medina High School in Ohio as one of the best QBs in the class of 2022.
Many Nittany Lions fans called for Allar to lead the team as a freshman in 2022, replacing Sean Clifford.
The anticipation for this season, with Allar at the helm, was so high in Happy Valley and beyond, believing this was the year to win a national championship.
Like it or not, a quarterback is the one player who is expected to lead his team to the mountain top.
Once again, it's not happening in Unhappy Valley. Could it be that Allar is not a big-stage quarterback? Or is he not being coached properly?
I don't have an answer, but I'm among the throng of blue and white fans asking when will we see our five-star quarterback?
