Free concert offered
The Music Camp wrap-up concert will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 26, at First Church of Christ, Juniata Gap Road. Everyone is invited to hear what this group of musicians accomplished during the camp.
Ox roast drive-thru set
Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren, 1028 Penn St., Hollidaysburg, will host an ox roast drive-thru from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday,
July 9. The $12 meal includes an ox roast sandwich, homemade gob, chips and a drink. Proceeds will support the goal of improved accessibility to the church. Call 814-695-0072 for more information.
Subs, pizza fundraiser
Twenty-eighth Street Church of the Brethren, 28th Street and Union Avenue, is hosting a Marianna’s subs and pizza fundraiser to benefit the church’s food pantry.
Orders are due to Tuesday, July 5. Pickup/delivery of orders will be Wednesday, July 15, at the church; hours to be announced.

Patriotic service planned
Foot of Ten Baptist Church will host a special America250 patriotic service at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 28. There will be military service member recognition, special presentations, music and more. A meal will be provided following the service. The church is at 1130 Foot of Ten Road, Duncansville.
Hymn sing featured
An old-fashioned hymn sing will be the highlight of the 10 a.m. Sunday, June 28, worship service at Twenty-eighth Street Church of the Brethren, 28th Street and Union Avenue.
Everyone is invited to attend and sing along with the old hymns.
Food pantry available
The food pantry at Twenty-eighth Street Church of the Brethren, 28th Street and Union Avenue, is available for those in need. Distribution will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, by appointment only. Call Deb by Thursday at 814-207-8293.
Tabernacle Choir watch party
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be hosting a special watch party at 6 p.m. Friday, June 26, at the Altoona Stake Center, 778 Brush Mountain Road, Hollidaysburg. The Tabernacle Choir will be performing a tribute for America’s 250th birthday celebration at the Hollywood Bowl and the concert will be rebroadcast at the Altoona Stake Center. Light refreshments will be served. All are invited to attend this community event.
Marking 100 years since the Choir’s first performance at the Hollywood Bowl in 1926, this historic return will unite music and humanitarian purpose in a celebratory concert benefiting women and children around the world.
Night of worship planned
Holy Spirit Ministry will host a night of worship at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at St. Michael Church, Hollidaysburg. Jo-Ann Semko will be the speaker on “I Am.” Semko is the diocesan director of schools and director of the diocesan Cursillo Movement.
Praise and worship will be led by the worship team. A prayer ministry will be held after the talk.
Bible schools planned
— Faith Baptist Church of Altoona is “Digging For Truth” for their 2026 Vacation Bible School. Local 4 year olds through 6th graders are invited to come and dig in to God’s Word by exploring themes of Creation, sin’s beginning, God’s judgment of sin, and forgiveness of sin.
Bible school will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 13-16. Volunteers will provide games, crafts, snacks, missionary connections, and Bible knowledge. The games will take place outdoors (weather permitting). Crafts will offer insight into the theme of “Digging For Truth.”
A Bible lesson with Scripture songs and memorization will help kids treasure and guard God’s Word in their hearts. Parents are encouraged to bring their children and stay and enjoy adult conversation.
— Snowball Mountain Challenge vacation Bible school will be held at Providence Presbyterian Church from 6 to 8 p.m. June 28-July 2. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. for those participating. At Snowball Mountain Challenge, kids will become challengers gearing up for frosty games, snowy surprises and hands-on lessons about resilience and faith. Providence Presbyterian Church is at 2401 Broad Ave., Altoona.

— “Road Trip — On the Go with God” vacation Bible school will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.
July 13-17 at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 5715 Roselawn Ave., Altoona. Activities will remind us that God is always with us wherever we go and whatever we do. “Travelers” will sing along with music videos, hear Bible stories, make crafts, engage in science activities, play games and enjoy snack time as they journey with Scout, the mascot and the navigator, on their road trip adventures. Children aged 3 through 12 are invited to attend. Pre-registration is encouraged by calling the church office at 814-942-5586 or through the church’s Facebook page.
Picnics in the park
The Well Ministry Center is sponsoring Picnics in the Park at Grove Memorial Park, 23rd Street and Sixth Avenue, every Tuesday.
A meal will be served at 5:15 p.m., followed by games, crafts and a short message of hope. The whole family is welcome. Rain or shine. The Well is located at 605 Burns Ave., Altoona.
Grief support offered
The grief support group meets at 6 p.m. every other Thursday at The Well Ministry Center,
605 Burns Ave., Altoona. The next meeting is Thursday, June 25. This is a safe place to share, heal and find hope and comfort. For more information, call 814-201-2548.
