Breakfast supports missions
Raystown Brethren Church will serve up a breakfast buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 20, to help support the church's missions team. Cost of the meal is by donation. The menu includes pancakes and syrup, scrambled eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, juice and milk. The church is at 129 Winterberry Lane in Saxton.
Free lunch offered
Providence Presbyterian Church, 2401 Broad Ave., Altoona, will serve a free lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20. Lunch will include a meatball sandwich on a bun, a variety of homemade soups, desserts, fruit and beverages. All are welcome.
Subs, pizza fundraiser
Twenty-eighth Street Church of the Brethren, 28th Street and Union Avenue, is hosting a Marianna's subs and pizza fundraiser to benefit the church's food pantry.
Orders will be taken beginning Sunday and all orders are due to Tuesday, July 5. Pickup/delivery of orders will be Wednesday, July 15, at the church; hours to be announced.

Wreath of Christ service
A Wreath of Christ service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Zion Lutheran Church, 500 Allegheny St., at Allegheny and Union streets, Hollidaysburg. The short, contemplative prayer service uses prayer beads, chimes and breathing exercises. Attendees can bring Wreath of Christ beads or borrow a set for the service.

Patriotic service planned
Foot of Ten Baptist Church will host a special America250 patriotic service at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 28. There will be military service member recognition, special presentations, music and more. A meal will be provided following the service. The church is at 1130 Foot of Ten Road Duncansville.
Cake for fathers
Cake will be served after the 10 a.m. worship service to honor fathers on Father's Day on Sunday, June 21, at the Twenty-eighth Street Church of the Brethren, 28th Street and Union Avenue.
Hymn sing featured
An old-fashioned hymn sing will be the highlight of the 10 a.m. Sunday, June 28, worship service at the Twenty-eighth Street Church of the Brethren, 28th Street and Union Avenue. Everyone is invited to attend and sing along with the old hymns.
Free movie
The movie "Left Behind" will be presented on Friday, June 19, at the Twenty-eighth Street Church of the Brethren, 28th Street and Union Avenue. Snacks will be served at 6:15 p.m. and the movie will start at 7 p.m. A discussion about the movie will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
June 24. The discussion will be led by Pastor Barron Deffenbaugh.
Food distribution set
St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Eighth Avenue and 13th Street, Altoona, will hold its monthly food pantry distribution from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25.

Vacation Bible school offered
"Road Trip - On the Go with God" vacation Bible school will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. July 13-17 at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 5715 Roselawn Ave., Altoona. Activities will remind us that God is always with us wherever we go and whatever we do. "Travelers" will sing along with music videos, hear Bible stories, make crafts, engage in science activities, play games and enjoy snack time as they journey with Scout, the mascot and the navigator, on their road trip adventures. Children aged 3 through 12 are invited to attend. Pre-registration is encouraged by calling the church office at 814-942-5586 or through the church's Facebook page.
Saturate Altoona continues
The sixth annual Saturate Altoona is being held Sunday nights in June at Heritage Plaza in downtown Altoona. From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. there will be blessing booths by area churches and ministries giving out food and refreshments. At 6:30 p.m., there will be a worship service with music, testimonies, prayer and a message by pastors or ministry leaders in the 814 area. A prayer tent will be staffed each evening for anyone wanting someone to pray for them.
The theme for this year's Saturate Altoona event is "On Mission With Jesus - by living a win/build/equip/multiply/send lifestyle."
Guest speakers include: June 21, international focus with Pastor Oscar Alvarez; June 28, a service of sending with various pastors and ministry leaders. This service will also include a baptism service for anyone interested in this step of discipleship.
Food pantry available
The food pantry at Twenty-eighth Street Church of the Brethren, 28th Street and Union Avenue, is available for those in need. Distribution will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, by appointment only. Call Deb by Thursday at 814-207-8293.
Bible school planned
Snowball Mountain Challenge vacation Bible school will be held at Providence Presbyterian Church from 6 to 8 p.m. June 28-July 2. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. for those participating. At Snowball Mountain Challenge, kids will become challengers gearing up for frosty games, snowy surprises and hands-on lessons about resilience and faith.
