Sensible minds need to prevail over budget

I felt compelled to write about Gov. Josh Shapiro’s $53.2 billion budget outline. I am dismayed when politicians continually increase spending instead of staying within fiscal limits of good governance. I am not saying Democrats are the only ones guilty of spending tax dollars, but they certainly have a penchant for spending over and above incoming revenues. When I was a local politician, we looked at our revenues and then decided what items our budget could accept and then planned accordingly. This governor and his cohorts believe that legalizing marijuana and taxing skill games ...

Joyce appreciated for health care stance

As a Keystone Stater through and through, I appreciate leaders who believe in accountability, competition, and limited government intrusion, especially in health care. That is why I appreciate U.S. Rep. John Joyce’s principled leadership on health care issues and his strong advocacy for constituents during recent congressional hearings with insurance executives. Too often, patients are left paying higher costs while large corporations face little scrutiny. Dr. Joyce understands that when insurance companies, pharmacy benefit managers and other health care entities become too ...

Verobish committed to sound policies

As voters in Pennsylvania’s 79th House District prepare for the March 17 special election, I support Andrea Verobish for her commitment to responsible government and sound fiscal policy. With families facing inflation, higher taxes and rising costs, our district needs a representative who values disciplined, accountable spending. Andrea opposes wasteful programs and supports balancing priorities without expanding government bureaucracy. She takes a common sense approach to budgeting, focusing on core responsibilities like public safety, infrastructure and education while avoiding ...

Verobish will bring energy, values to post

As a Blair County Commissioner and a member of the Blair County Republican Committee, I am proud to support Andrea Verobish for state representative. Andrea brings energy, integrity and a strong commitment to traditional conservative values that matter to families in Blair County. She understands the importance of limited government, respects life, strong families and supporting small businesses. She is a strong advocate for unleashing Pennsylvania’s energy resources. At a time when families are struggling with high costs and unreliable energy policies, Andrea knows that ...

Why female disparity in satisfaction?

A recent poll conducted by Cygnal offers a clear rejection to the noting that lawbreaking or violence is an acceptable response to federal immigration enforcement. According to this poll, approximately 24% of Americans believe criminal action — including violence -— can be justified to stop ICE. While this figure is troubling, the broader picture is reassuring: Nearly 70% Americans reject illegal or violent responses outright. Opposition spans the political spectrum. Republicans oppose such actions at roughly 80%, while Independents follow closely behind at approximately 72%. ...

Verobish’s principles reflect district values

Please mark your calendars for March 17 to vote in the special election for state representative. Since Lou Schmitt resigned to assume the responsibility of judge, we will be able to partake in this historic opportunity. I would recommend everyone vote for Republican Andrea Verobish. Her career spans over a decade in public administration, giving her a running start in Harrisburg. Her guiding principles reflect the values of the 79th — defense of the sanctity of life, bolstering our 2nd Amendment rights and slashing taxes to fight the Shapiro affordability crisis. Please vote for ...
