In a Sept. 29 letter, a writer commented on what he saw as a lack of NRA membership. He added that the right may be precious, but the Bill of Rights has no membership requirement for keeping and bearing arms. That would be one of the infringements mentioned in the Second Amendment.
As far as his complaint is concerned, there are other national organizations such as Gun Owners of America, the Second Amendment Foundation, the Firearms Policy Coalition, the National Association for Gun Rights, the Citizens Committee For The Right To Keep and Bear Arms, and Specialized and demographic groups as the National African American Gun Association, Pink Pistols, and the Armed Women of America.
All 50 states have state organizations. Pennsylvania has the Pennsylvania Gun Rights, the Pennsylvania Firearms Association, the Pennsylvania Rifle and Pistol Association, and over 400 local rod-and-gun sportsmen clubs. Many people belong to multiple organizations.
My wish is that every Democratic gun owner stop voting for politicians who want to remove an unalienable right as described in the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence. If you don’t understand that, prepare for the possibility of losing more of the Bill of Rights. It was composed to tell the government what it cannot do.
