Democrats need to find someone better

2 min read

Being a senior citizen as well as my husband's caregiver, I don't follow current events as closely as I once did. However, once in a while I see or hear something that grabs my attention, so I turn to my laptop to write down my thoughts before they disappear.

Recently, I have been hearing the name of Kamala Harris as the possible Democratic presidential pick for 2028. I did vote for her in the last election, but I would have voted for anyone running against Trump.

I realize it is early days, but if the Democrats have any hope at all of taking the presidency in 2028, they have got to find someone else to put on the ballot. I can think of several possibilities who would have a better chance of winning than Kamala Harris. While she is extremely qualified and extremely smart, she does not know how to connect with voters. She lacks charisma and that's something that cannot be taught. You either have it or you don't. She does not.

Democrats need to find someone who can connect with everyday people. In my view, Gavin Newsom, Josh Shapiro or Amy Klobuchar would all be suitable candidates. Just not Kamala.
