Shapiro wrong; Garrity right

1 min read

Pennsylvania was founded as a haven for various religious sects. For 97 years, the Amish were free to manage their medical care, including how they give birth.

Buried in this year's 600-page budget was a provision stripping the Amish of their medical freedom.

Under a truly democratic governance, that provision would not have been buried. It would have been aired for public debate.

Our governor is no stranger to power grabs. If the Amish lose this fight in court, they will leave our state. Imagine Pennsylvania with no Amish farm markets, no buggies to remind us of simpler days. No Amish fields of grain.

Imagine nothing but data centers -- and a missing block of voters Shapiro doesn't like.

This event harkens back to the middle of the night pay raise.

It should produce the same effect -- the unseating of those responsible.

The buck stops with Shapiro.

Vote Garrity on Nov. 3.
